This summer I was fortunate to be able to attend the Humanities Without Walls Pre-Doctoral Summer Workshop organized by the Humanities Without Walls Consortium (headquartered at UIUC’s Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities) and facilitated by the Chicago Humanities Festival. It was an incredible experience! I’ve organized a panel discussion and info session about HWW that is happening next week at UW-Madison Center for the Humanities, in advance of the Nov. 1 application deadline. HWW’s Principal Investigator Antoinette Burton, Project Manager Jason Mierek, and Grad Lab Practicum Coordinator Peggy Brennan are visiting from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to discuss HWW, share information about the workshop, and answer any questions about the application process. HWW Fellow Maggie Nettesheim Hoffmann is visiting from Marquette to join me in discussing our experience at the workshop. Aaron Fai, UW Center for the Humanities’ Public Humanities Program Manager, will discuss HWW’s connection to the Center’s mission of supporting interdisciplinary, collaborative, public humanities research. Graduate students, faculty, administrators, and the public are encouraged to attend.
